Year 1 & 2 - Dahl
Welcome to Dahl Class!
This year, Miss Cocks and Mrs Clack will be engaging our Year 1 and Year 2 children with an excitingly broad, knowledge-rich curriculum. We will discover more about our world, expanding our viewpoints whilst revisiting previous learning. This year we will get to know significant individuals, David Attenborough and Mary Anning, a little better, find out about the continents and oceans, discover what life was like for the Victorians and explore our local area, making use of mapping and fieldwork techniques.
We continue to develop our phonics knowledge in the RWI programme before moving onto English lessons to further develop our reading, writing and SPAG knowledge.
Power Maths challenges us to think deeply about our maths learning and apply our knowledge to help us to solve mathematical problems with confidence and understanding. We are also developing our number sense through daily mastering number sessions too.
We will enjoy learning about a range of different artists and will be inspired by their styles and techniques when creating our own art pieces and sketchbook work.
We have so much to learn and we can’t wait to have fun along the way!
