Admissions
We would love to invite you to visit our warm, friendly and faith-filled school and encourage you to give our Headteacher, Mrs Louise Freeman, a call on 01772 683009. She would love to chat to you about our wonderful school and how it could meet the needs of your child and support your family.
Admissions to our school
The number of places available for admission to our Reception Class each year is 15. The Governors welcome applications from Catholic and Non-Catholic parents who would like their children educated within the aims and ethos of the Blessed Edward Bamber Catholic Multi Academy Trust (BEBCMAT) and St Joseph's Catholic Primary School. The closing date for applications for a place in the reception class in September 2026 is 15th January 2026. The offer date is 16th April 2026.
Online applications
Applications for a place in reception at St Joseph's in September 2026 must be made online at Lancashire County Council - School Admissions. Parents who wish to seek priority for baptised Catholic children (or parents who are members of other faith communities) should also complete the school’s Supplementary Information Form (SIF). The Supplementary Information Form must to be returned to the school.
To find out more about our school's admissions arrangements through the local authority, please contact Pupil Access North on 01524 581207.
In-Year Applications at St Joseph's
An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places. Enquiries regarding places should be made by contacting the Bursar (phone: 01772 683009, email: bursar@st-josephs-kirkham.lancs.sch.uk) and applications can be made by completing the in-year admissions application form which is available above. Completed applications should be returned to Mrs Louise Freeman (Headteacher) St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Garstang Road North, Wesham, PR4 3HA.
If there is a place in the appropriate class, the Governors will arrange for the admission to take place. If there is no place, the Admissions Committee will meet to consider the application and, if refused, information about how to appeal against the decision will be provided. Parents can complete the schools appeal form Appeal for a school place - Lancashire County Council on Lancashire county council's website.
Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published over subscription criteria, as set out in the admissions policy for the current school year, will be applied. Parents are advised to read the admissions policy carefully before making their application. If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list. Please see the admissions policy for more details.
You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible. Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.
